Evaluation of the Toxicity of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles upon Staphylococcus Aureus and Escherichia Coliin Contaminated water

Background: Nanoparticles (NPs) have recently attracted extensive attention in the field of elimination and reduction microbial load various water resources. Accordingly, this study aimed to eliminate bacterial contamination from aqueous solutions using synthesized NPs. Methods: In present study, zinc oxide (ZnO) silver (Ag) ion-doped (Ag/ZnO, 1-6 wt%) nanoparticles were sol-gel process then characterized terms structure, morphology, antimicrobial activity. X-ray diffraction (XRD) was utilized determine nanoparticle size crystal structure. Images emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) transmission (TEM) confirmed successful production The activity ZnO Ag1-6%/ZnO against Staphylococcus aureus Escherichia coli assessed by agar well diffusion method. Results: According findings, had a hexagonal structure Ag5%/ZnO 32.56 nm 12.81 nm, respectively; images showed that sizes 77.60 47.15 respectively. Based on images, mean 22.5 17.5 results diameter zone inhibition created at concentration 0.1 g/mL 20 mm 13 for S. E. coli, Conclusion: indicated more resistant than aureus, although still low concentrations.
